This morning, when you log-in to Dharma Wants You, there's a button on your profile to "Download ID Card". It gives you a PDF file of a card with your number that can be saved and printed. my barcode is not at all the same as the one which my number generated on the barcoding link dennis gave us
Is there a problem with the barcodes? Is that why there is a link re: barcode generators? Or do I have to do something? How is a barcode going to matter if there is nothing to scan it anyway?
Mine matches up as far as I can tell, the one on the card is a little fuzzy and/or small- my eyesight is getting really bad! :P

Hey my barcode only matches on the first half, the second is TOTALLY different!
I still have the last 2 puzzles left to solve so I've post in all three post in the past 45 minutes.
I'm so lost I don't know where to go next.
I have several lines that don't match in my bar code.
hoku... same with my barcode -- it's identical then half-way through, it's so off.
I tried my numbers in several barcode generators trying different options (128, UCC...) and none gave me an exact result. Maybe the barcode isnt really one, or they've used a completely new way of translating numbers into lines.

its the second half of mine that doesn't fit too; although the very end works. maybe the barcode is some kind of clue because it doesn't match up with the id numbers (which are different, because i checked my id number against my brothers to make sure, lol)
i honestly dont think the card is that important, reckon its just a cool bit of kit for our wallets and not the start of the game proper! jeez im going to look like roger workman before this gets going;)

Also I tried copying the bar code and pasting it in paint but all it copied was the card's blue background!!!shady...

Anonymous, zoom in so your barcode fills the screen, then press "print screen" button. Open paint and click edit, then paste. You can save it as a bmp file that way.

Remember they started releasing the new clues for Find 815 late because the servers were crashing if they did it at peak viewing time. For the last 2/3 of that ARG they updated at about 1900 hours Hawaii time (7pm here or midnight on the east coast of the USA.) If they do that this time it is still 10 to 12 hours until it updates! sigh :(
The ARG is through ABC, so all you Euros will have to wait until our time. Did you seriously think that it was on German time genius? :)

The bar code numbers are not significant you guys :)...You're reading WAY TOO FAR into things. I set up two accounts - if you haven't done so, I'd suggest it. You'll notice then that the barcodes are insignificant.

I have to say this here as well - #7 was a perfect puzzle. It had all the elements an ARG needs. Careful obervastion, research, and putting it all together. Great clue

The puzzles just fall in line with the rest, and when there's a payoff like Perre Chang, that's the ticket.

Hey these puzzles have been a great way to get me through the sloooooow dog days of summer. Disappointingly I have a barcode scanner where I work, and when you scan the barcode into any microsoft program/web browser it will just bring up my 11 digit Dharma id number.
The Barcode thing is actually pretty exciting. In fact ID numbers are exciting... I know the ARG has startede off slow but come on guys, this offers the potential for Live Meetups in Large cities, and that's awesome.
With over five months to kill I'd prefer an ARG that starts slow and burns only gets better than an ARG like the TLE which started strong and by the end peterd out.
SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT THE HECK IS GOING ON IVE BEEN WAITING ALL DAY FOR THIS THING TO START ! ITS THE 19 OF AUGUST 2008 ...START ALREADY !!!

When I opened my ID card PDF on my desktop, I noticed a new thing to access... when I go to security settings it talks all about digital ID's and who it's issued by and there's an expiration date and time, and numbers & letters, etc... is any of this significant or just par for the course with Adobe? I'm not familiar with Adobe Reader, really.

yes...the plane is crashed, but in TLE we concentrated on details and side stories which gave us a lot of background info, whereas Find 815 was more about the cover up of the crash...

I've just been to Spain for the International Maths Olympiad and I just couldn't figure out their way of life - they "don't sleep" - they are up almost 20 hours a day, can spend the whole day walking around Madrid and don't get tired =)

It was about that time when we got our first email in this game.
I remember I went to the kitchen to get some tea and when I came back everyone was saying they got an email. It was about 11:18 at the time.
Well my buttons are in odd places (slightly shifted higher) but that's it. Other than refresh taking forever. When the thing went live after Comic-Con it was just after 11 pm EST so like 8 pm for you Westcoasters. I am afraid it might be that way again.
This sucks, and I almost really don't care anymore. Okay I am done now, one complain and that is all I allow myself. I'm going to watch Middleman on DVR and cry into my cup of tea.

That is correct. My point was the e-mail was dated for 8/20 and not 8/19... bummer.
However, I used Pacific time conveter to "Island Time" and 8/19/08 8:15pm converts to 11/17/07 1:23am so I guess the A.R.G. actually has already been completed.
