The source code of the e-mail has a strange phrase in it, "Batteries Ice Pint" which The ODI at Dark UFO worked out could possible anagram to "Patience is Bitter".

Having completed the eligibility test you can now download your official Dharma Initiative ID card. Simply go to My Profile and download your card. Carry it with pride.
Today you will also be able to commence our extensive testing program that will assess your suitability for a range of research roles within the Dharma Initiative.
Many years ago I was asked to help rebuild this noble community of scientific inquiry. With its genuinely altruistic vision, I understood that a vibrant volunteer cohort would be a fundamental part of this effort.
Together, with my dedicated recruiting team, I have searched the globe for the best and brightest to join us, to form the foundations of the newly reconstituted Dharma Initiative.

Maybe you can also place them approximately, sometimes it seems that they get automatically in their right place. Is this the trick, "mewantsdharma"?

My trick is a bit different, it is kinda cheating... :) I used a bug in the program, and I think the other 97 used it too (or simply photoshop..)

I saw some people say they're getting a strange yellow box around some of the buttons...if you're on the main screen and hit the tab button, it just makes it switch from button to button...I don't know why they made it bright yellow, but it isn't anything special.
If they were smart, they would let everyone complete the test once and then have them not be eligable to do it again for that account. That way traffic would slow a bit, and you would get some accurate scores instead of everyone trying to take it 100 times to boost themselves higher.
So I finally got in again. I noticed that ie is connecting to wdig.vo.llnwd.net now. Maybe it always has and I did not notice it. But if you google that it links to Javi's Middleman podcast and ITE. SO myabe they are now hosting this on a different server. ABC's TPTB trump Hoodlum's TPTFU? Whatever, I am finally in!
Mine is not a great trick: I get the same results if I use it or if I just start immediately to put the pieces on the field. So, it's hard to say that's a useful trick.

i went on at about 10 this morning UK time and it was working perfectly; probably because being only 5am over there in america everyone was still asleep. so thats the time to log in, lol!!
I wouldnt worry about scores too much guys. Since the test is in flash those recruits with comp knowledge will simply take advantage of the bug and hack the game to get 100% scores. The fact that only a few lost fans can do that, that this paticular test has nothing to do with the show or its mythology and that they have the nerve to blackmail us into recruiting more torture specimens has pretty much killed all my newbie expectations for this ARG. You can hack, you do well, you cant and its all about how fast your mouse is?????

This is very different from TLE, then. It built community spirit and even the glyph hunt was so random that everyone had a chance (which is how I ended up on the leaderboard back then)

Too bad you weren't around for TLE-1 Emerald and ANM, I got trained here on that one as my first ARG and it was very exciting for the most part. I didn't even know what an ARG was then. But now, anything after that is kind of disappointing. :-p
It seems like with TLE, all the bucks raked in from the commercial help/funding (Jeep, Sprite, Verizon) enabled ABC to afford to "buy" better gaming for that ARG. I wonder why they opted out for the commercial aspect these last two times around, after even Jeep bragged about how great it worked out that time?

i totally agree with that..take the first result only..
the "other" way of getting high score is cheating..one can even get 100%!..so, best if we just leave it there..and its not really "hack" though..
FYSB, sayid's girl, codysmom- I feel your pain and agree 100%. Yesterday all I got was "LOADING..." for like forever, then last night it was "site updating", now I'm back to plain blue screen. I haven't even laid eyes on the test yet, much less gotten to try it out! I really don't think Dharma does want me. I mean Hans doesn't send me emails, and now this. I miss DJ Dan, too. I'm definitely on Ben's side now, I say lets purge the DI again.

Hey I'm finally in. And it's working better than it did yesterday. Now when I cancel the test it flips over and gives me an option to try again. I didn't have that yesterday. I had to go back to test 1 or the home page to start again.

Some wise guy just posted a "cheat" on dark UFO but let me tell ya, it doesnt really do nothing(at least for me anyways-I already tried that aproach yesterday) I do however trace over my screen and fit the pieces into place before starting the game but its no use, my problem is piece moving speed/accuracy related, not figuring out where they go-thats pretty straight forward. As I said before, this test is not about space its about hacking/wrist flexibility assesment. *sighs*

yeah mine logged in straight away too but i gave up again pretty quickly because i'm pretty sure that i'm not going to get any higher scores than i've already managed and its just too frustrating. and i should probably be better at this because its 'spatial' and i'm an architecture student, but oh well. Yes we are full of it. You know I hope the scope of this changes, I mean Find815 was fun, but it wasn't the same as TLE. Find815 was soooo structured. It was just a checklist of puzzles. I hope that there's a little more cloak and dagger in this one, although so far it is set up like Find815.

i've gotten a few where there have been two pieces exactly the same except one of the pieces has an extension to it so that it appears not to fit if you've already put the first in.

After staying away for an eternity (like 2 hours) I grudgingly (I was moving my mouse so fast I couldnt open the damn window)went back to D(D)WY and it was obvious (I clicked everything I could see)that nothing has changed. Not the leader's board, not my personal boerd, not that wonderful (ly infernal) music! I hope something new comes along before I read any more "I scored 900 points using the bug blablabla"crap. You know, the square with the pieces...it looks a lot like a broken screen,like someone had bashed their head against it no?

Richard as our leader is a great idea. He has black hair also, like the swan. He's a much better looking ageless mascot than Joop too! Like those silly movie commercials..."Richard Alpert IS...The Black Swan", heehee.
