The person who setup the fake site did a really bad job. They took the source code from the Dharma Van poster and left their comments in the code. Really lame.
The fake site... they just ruined the reputation of bluehost.com .... no way would I use bluehost.com for web hosting if their servers get bogged down like this... lol ;)

i have to say, this is seriously the most annoying and messed up thing, i was at my computer since 230 and i hit purchase order and it was gone, this is so flawed, i will continue to rant because this is awful, the load times were RIDICULOUS
MAN, now I am really sad! OMG, why am I so tied up in this. I didn't have any down time, all my information was in, hit "continue check out" then it just took an ETERNITY loading the confirm page, and it came up as out of stock. That just isn't fair.

OMG guys, I don't know about you, but I got no work done and I think it's lunch time!
God i'm having a crap week. Hours cut at work, previous tenant of my art studio has unpaid bills and i'm getting harassed by the debt collection services, my dog died (RIP Skye don't know what i'll do without you) and now this. Getting worried about going to the cinema later, it's in a rough area i'll probably get shot at!
I'm not bitter though, it's a beautiful print congratulations to all who managed to get it, I hope you enjoy it and frame it properly, it deserves more than a clip frame!!!!!
Actually i'd be interested to know how people have been framing their posters, when it comes to my own work I really struggle with framing, it's really tricky to get right!

I like this one. I think it's up there with the Smoke Monster in terms of being a fairly literal representation that still manages to be moody and evocative. If you look at all twelve, this is certainly the darkest one so far, and I like that.
Well, made it to Super 7 to have a good time chatting with the clerks and fellow lost fans (some of whom drove an hour...). Refreshed the URL a zillion times. Went through the process of logging in (I had previously bought Love Triangle). My fatal mistake,I guess, was one mis-entered password. I got all the way to the final purchase button and then blammo! 404 error. Aaaargh!!
Anyway, at least I didn't leave empty-handed... The iPhone skin is cool, the MacBook skin is going up on my wall, and (aside from the nifty swag bag they gave out, with a little notebook and some kind of plastic figurine in a metal box--elegant and cartoony), I spent the $50 I would have spent on the poster on two excellent shirts from Super7. And, perhaps most uniquely, I got a LOST fan button from jopinionated! Thanks for bringing those!
Definitely worth the trip across the Bay. (Still didn't eat lunch, though.)

Sure, no problem! I figure I've been lurking since (maybe) poster 7, so I might as well give back to the community... :) Should have taken pics but I was too busy trying to reload the purchase page.
Who knew it was going to take half an hour, and then sell out in, yes, it had to be less than a minute? It was insane; I thought I had a chance, but no.
Of course, I figured in advance that being at the reveal meant giving up a little bit of likelihood of getting a poster. Mainly because I was on my iPhone on 3G, not wireless, which slowed me down a little bit. And, as I mentioned, the password flub. I might have gotten in right before the 404, had I gotten it right the first time.
But (again) it was well worth it, because instead of just not having a poster, I don't have a poster but I have all that other cool stuff and a good experience.
The store staff members were really nice; they personally understood the fanboy/fangirl phenomenon, being fanboys themselves. I did mention to them that I thought it was sort of unfair that TPTB don't open the site up to purchase at the exact moment of the URL reveal (and they actually said they could pass that feedback on to TPTB).
I understand that it's also a sense of fairness that is the reason to let the URL spread around before opening it to purchase, but that just gives the advantage to people who can write scripts and have the fanciest setups. And those are the ones (IMHO) who are least likely to be actual fans and more likely to sell the posters on eBay.
But, hey, the whole thing is a great way to pass the time before LOST comes back...!
