Orchid7, did you find out that the BDLive works down here? Last I looked into it for LU it didnt, but that was a while ago. I order all my dvds from Amazon these days, often cheaper than buying locally!

Hello All! I've been away for a few days - lots of posts to read! I'm thrilled for everyone who gets to attend the Gallery1988 event.

@Patmc - thanks for the info about the Amazon sale. I just ordered all five seasons on Blu-ray. Now all I need is a PS3. :-)
Ok, gonna be a few days before I get my dvds, soooo, can someone do a quick review on the Dharma Init Kit for me?
@kiwilostie: Have not watched the DVDs themselves since I'm waiting for the Blu-Ray to get here (maybe Thursday). I won this kit at TLC and it definitely is a wonderful memento of the show! It's an actual binder with various pamphlets (Weekly Menu, Security Warnings, Motor Pool Info, Map). You get 4 patches with instructions how to attach to your jumpsuit (some boxes have an extra 5th patch...mine didn't). Then there's a top secret document: The Truce between the indigenous people and Dharma with comments by Richard Alpert.
Well a bit of good news for me today...I think it's certain- I'm going to get to go to the LA reveal next Tuesday!!! Yea! Darlton here I come!

maven - thanks! Just what I was looking for. Like you say, a fitting memento indeed. I really enjoyed the Dharma stuff last season. Now I really want it to get here fast!
I cannot seem to get my Blu Rays to play. Extremely frustrating. Never had a problem before with my player.
And I just watched the VHS tape from the Dharma Kit. Marvin Candle (with fake arm) explains the Barracks to you as a new recruit!
Trying to catch up on the comments and "re-enter" the conversation, may take a day or two.
So, to anyone who got the Dharma Kit, is it worth it? I'm torn between just the standard Blu-Ray set and the Dharma kit. Besides the patches, VHS and pamphlets, are there any extra DVD bonuses? (Behind the scenes, out takes, stuff like that.)
@FTI: I have not watched the DVDs from the Dharma Kit. I prefer Blu-Ray (which should arrive Thurs.). At the least you can do LU. The Kit is cute and a good memento, but I would get the Blu-Rays. I just have it because I won it.
Thanks maven. I think I'll wait till Christmas to buy it (or ask Santa for it, haha). Not sure if $84 is worth it or not yet...

@FTI: I'm into Japanese releases, where you spend more to get totally useless, strange things, hah. So I totally dig the creative packaging, vague possible hints at S6, and the five patches (I got the extra Sub patch!). If you don't want to spend the extra $$ for the Dharma set, if you buy at Best Buy the standard still comes with a bonus disc and a Dharma luggage tag. Otherwise if you're getting Blu-Ray, the only diff appears to be the LostU access. Just FYI :)
@ChrisL: sent you some fundage, though I thought you were using it to go BACK TO THE ISLAND~ (Ajira Air is pretty cheap, imo)
BTW did everyone get different patches in the Dharma box, or are they the same? I got Security, Swan, Cafeteria, Lamp Post, and bonus Submarine.
I got those four patches, Anne. Lucky you with the 5th!

I just completed all my 1st classes at LU, and made the Dean's List! LOL! All you need to do is take the jungle survival course, as it lets you complete the course, and voila! Instant 4.0! I recognized at least two people from LostARGs also on the Deans List: ReverendMilo, and UnseenPresence (On LU, I'm dharmadude :-) )
@mungonna - If you just head a mile or so east on Melrose, you'll find yourself in front of Paramount Studios. :-)
@LostiePat - It's my pleasure... just trying to share the Lost goodness for everyone.
I should be getting a new high capacity battery for my HD camcorder on Thursday, so I'll be able to shoot all kinds of video next Tuesday. And by god, I'm FINALLY going to get that picture with both halves of Dalrton if it kills me!
