However now I've had some time to look at it and see some of the close up pictures that have been sent in, I realised that the poster has a lot of depth and hidden beauty along with a certain amount of menace. Plus there are hidden Dharma symbols so what's not to love !
We saw quite soon after the reveal that the picture on the DamonCarltonandaPolarBear.com web pages was, as has been with a lot of the posters, quite flat in terms of colour reproduction and also there was no hint at the hidden symbols.
The picture above was sent in by Fishbisquit
Lets see some closeups starting with this picture of the Dharma symbols. |
A closeup of Ben's face which highlights the reflected light behind Ben |
A very sharp closeup of bunny number 8 |
Thanks to LostSailors, Fishbisquit, Walkindude125 and Ramhatter for sending in some great pictures, and the signature closeups you see below.

For UK LU fans:
From The Office of The Dean of Students:
Due to a high volume of incoming students, enrollees in some countries may have experienced delays with registration or entering our campus. Be assured this issue will have no impact on class standing, GPA or diploma distribution.
We appreciate your patience as our team works quickly to resolve this matter.
Please remember, whatever happened, happened.
LOST UNIVERSITY
Also, Rev Milo, Did you say you can get that fake website on a mug? Would love one of those, so I can thank it for allowing me to buy Jacob's Cabin. I still owe you one for that! Oh yeah, gotta go pick it up and try it with my black light bulb.
Martyn, thanks for posting that. I guess we just keep trying. I would have thought though that if that was the issue we were having with the PS3 we would at least have seen an LU screen, not just be kicked back to the main BR menu?
Cool pics Zort.
I love the hidden Dharma symbols! Where about in the print are they hidden?
I'm hoping my Benry will arrive today *fingers crossed* :)
futureself, from the pictures I've been sent they are in the lower left corner/
Thanks Zort, after I posted I realised that that was the most probably place for them :)
@ChrisL...
The thing worked perfectly fine before Dec. 8th but as soon as it's open, kicks me right back to the main menu. Hopefully it'll work tonight.
Just got Jacob's Cabin back from the framers, so going to take pictures and upload to help people choose their frames.
I meant probable, not probably of course :) Damn not having edit on these comments...a combo of crap typing skills and constant distractions means I really could do with it (delete works too of course)!
Here is the link, hope someone finds it useful:
And that's why my was shaking...
Looks good Martyn, is that a brushed steel frame ?
ok here... We got up at 4:30 waiting to see if they would close school and they finally did. Snow day !! They say we will get 5-10 inches, we shall see. lovely, I'd rather have the sun and the sand.
Thanks Martyn, they look great! I almost freaked out when I saw you're Locke's Secret blue-tacked to the wall though - then realised it was a copy *phew* ;)
@Zort...
I'm not sure if it's steel but definitely brushed metal. Thought it went well with the eeryness of the poster.
@futureself...
Yeah, not a real copy, just a printed canvas I did because I thought it'd look awesome next to my The Brain That Wouldn't Die canvas.
And I was right!
Also...
LOST UNIVERSITY IS WORKING!!!
Hey Lisa... Enjoy the snow and stay warm!
Martyn, JC looks awesome. Great news that LU is working. I just want to go home and study now!
I'm itching to get going with LU, but I didn't get chance last night and today all the equipment is under dust sheets while a new fireplace is being fitted.
Zort - will you have fireplace before and afters on your site?!
I am truly excited again about LU following last nights disappointment. Can't get out of work early today though sadly.
Just had a quick play with it before setting off for work, did jungle survival which was funny.
Just hoping that it's not because majority of the US is asleep and it'll work when I get home.
Lisa...
Going to finally post your boarding pass, rough few days at work for me so never got round to it. Sorry about the delay!
Yep I'll have a few photo's of the construction process soon.
those dang sleepy US people. and us illy one's that get up at 4 am Ugh ! Not to worry Martyn, when you get it sent is fine. really feeling jealous of all the people that are getting to play on the blueray, I probably won't get anything till Christmas and if not the, I will buy it myself for my birthday which is the next week lol Sometimes it's good to have a birthday right after the holidays. :-)
And posted. Yours too caleb stead.
My awesome boyfriend spent so long setting LU up last night, fixed all the bugs, and THEN sat down to watch the first Hieroglyphics class with me. What a keeper :)

@Zort - Your construction site is so much more tidy and organized than any of mine have ever been!

WOW Thorsten!
Thorsten, doesn't matter how many times I look at, I still go WOW! too.
Zort... Can't wait to see what's going in that hole!??.
andalone, I think Zort had a bit of a tidy before he took the pic don't you!
@ChrisL - Agreed! I have undertaken numerous renovation projects, and can honestly say that it always looks like Jughead detonated here in Memphis until project complete. Or maybe I am a messy do-it-yourself-er?
Awesome job, thorsten!!!!
The next step - http://twitpic.com/ssido
And yes a lot of tidying happened before that previous photo.
Yes, forgot to say thanks to Thorsten for the full size image file.
I like your house, Zort!
I just received update from Gallery 1988 via mailing list distribution, re: LOST Exhibit
Confirmation of comixguru's earlier statement:
The show opens Tuesday, December 15th from 7-10PM and the creators of LOST are attending the event. This night will also have MANY surprises.
You might want to line up early for this one!
Zort, that looks like something out of Dr Who.
Good morning all! My season 5 blu-ray Darma kit was at my front door when I got up this morning!!!
andalone, I am REALLY starting to feel the pain of not being able to jump on a plane!
@ChrisL -- I still need to know how to make a contribution. Can you send me information to: ellen (dot) blackmun (at) gmail (dot) com.
Thanks!
Ellen B, How exciting! I ordered one from Amazon US as it didn't seem we were going to get it here, the postage was $5 so I'm guessing It'll arrive some time after Season 6 starts!
:) email
I need a poster clue!!
Initial excitement from getting dvds/blue-ray fading. No LU classes for me until tomorrow - I wonder why the two day wait between sessions?
andalone, I'm trying to focus on my work here and now you've mentioned LU again and I just want to dash home and get stuck in!
Maybe the two day wait is to let the English catch up ;-)
@andalone...I agree. I can't do the LU, so I'm totally wanting a clue!
Do you think we'll get more clues? I've resigned myself to the reveal being on Tuesday and that the clues are over. I would love it if we got another clue.
Just printed off an 8x10 glossy of the poster and it looks fab.
@Martyn
per request, coffee mugs are now added, as well as beer stein, ladies tank tops, can coolers, and mouse pads.
Fake URL memorabilia?
I know I know I am in the minority on this, but I really believe that 16th poster will be for sale prior to the 15th. It will sell out, per usual. (and the e-vite DID say ALL 16 sold-out posters.) And then #16 will be included with the previous 15 posters on display at Gallery 1988.
The exhibit seems to be such a major event that a poster drop on the 15th, or even the date after, would complicate things so much. I would think that they would want to get the poster sales behind them before launching the exhibit.
I may be delusional - very likely - but that is my opinion.
@andalone, interesting. I'm not sure what to think about the poster. If they're really going to give the attendees a chance to buy it online like everyone else, the clues better start coming pretty quickly considering how early they want people to start lining up.
@Amy Lynn - I am probably delusional. But my little fantasies and imaginings bring me comfort. :)
I guess they could drop a clue tomorrow heading for a weekend reveal. That would be cool.
@ChrisL, or they could drop a clue RIGHT NOW. :)
Like the Paul Scheer video?
If frame 16 is the invitation, then it'sall the clue we need. The poster will be found at the gallery.
ROFL! Amy Lynn - smilie face aside, you made me panic for a split second and check the site.
@thorsten, but they've said for certain the reveal will NOT be simultaneous with the gallery event.
I don't expect any changes on the hub anymore Amy.
It is our destiny to go back to 1988!
;))
:-) @ Thorsten.
I just read there are only TWO commentaries on the Season 5 DVDs? Because You Left and He's Our You? How can Damon and Carlton not do a commentary for The Incident?!?! Or the Life and Death of JB?!?
DO NOT want to go back to 1988-bad fashion year.
Just taken my first classes.
Also found a couple of problems with the DVD when switching between a class and the quad. I'll have to see if there is any updated firmware for my "new" blu-ray player.
Fresh from EB…
bathroommonkey
thorsten, please tell me which one is mel.
i'm dying to put a face to the crazy.

LOL! He's right though, that is one crazy looking dude with the camera!
*thinks guy with camera is cute*
hehe.
In other news… Carlton twittered:
An army runs on its stomach as does a writing staff. We are burned out on our local take-out.
Any food suggestions in the Burbank area?
Well, Comixguru?
don't all of us women Amy ? lol
Anyone else get a Ben Print that is longer than 24 inches? Mine seems to be about 25 inches long...
dittos, amy lynn

As the subject of who's who on the poster as come up over at EB, I'm suggesting that we please NOT identify at this forum or elsewhere in public real names without permission of individual. Thanks.
I've posted some screenshots from my LU experience.
NEW POST
Hey some of those pictures are mine! Wee! I love this poster so much. Like weeks after I am all colon capital d about it. I just went and dropped the biggest mint on framing, I can't wait to see it like a giant haunted American Gothic on my wall! Where I will stare at it... and it will stare back. Ha ha.
Lostsailors, thats exactly what I'm doing with my Ben print also! A giant American gothic! I want a creepy black frame. I'm excited! Great minds think alike :D
...Makes me laff when the dim witted call Me crazy. I guess being highly predictable makes one sane. And thats the gist of one Ben Linus character. The artist caught the always pensive nature of Ben Linus in the facial rendition of the print. Always plotting, thinking ahead, figuring possibilities,, so to be able to manipulate. And thats the deal,,if you aren't predictable, then you can't be easily manipulated. But if you are predictable..if you do follow in lock step to the drummers of Madison ave, of Heaven and Hell, of State and Country,...of ..logic and reason..,then you get the gold star on your forehead for being a good person easily manipulated.
The " deceit" of Ben Linus includes his own belief in his power. Jack thwarted it, as did Chas Widmore...when the " rules" were broke. Interestingly, so did MIB, if you believe his " spirit" now inhabits Flocke.
So the star trails in the background show the 24/7 focus of the deceitful, always plotting, manipulative Ben Linus. The infinite ( 8) rabbit looks on in attentive mode, but still innocent. yea, it takes a human to corrupt the nature of infinity.,,to call it crazy.
I like this print alot. I think the artist caught the essence of Ben,,and his position in LOST quite well. It serves as a great reminder to what not to believe ,,ever,,of one's self.
CLAIRE! Did you find one!? I was so sad for all that day.
I did!!! I got the nicest guy to trade me for Rousseau's Transmission! It was great. He was amazing about it. I was sad too but I hope it worked out for a lot of people.
Now we have our Bens!!
YEY!!!
That makes me sooo happy. Beeeeeeen.
Also to know that trades work. Did you find the trade here or on one of the other sites?
I know! Beeeeeeen is correct! I found it from someone who offered on here when I was having my freak out moment when it sold out lol
That is so cool. Do you have your Ben yet? I seriously just dropped a mint on the framing of mine. Haha.
I do have it! I got it Wednesday :D. Haha Ben is worth an expensive frame. Where did you get the frame from?
I ended up getting a huge custom job on it because I fail at framing on my own. I took it to Aaron Brothers- it turned out beautiful! It's like this monolithic American Gothic on my wall.
Are you framing yours?
