Just when I thought we have a casual Friday, The Kharma Initiative reported that Todd Slater will drop his Ben print tonight at 2 PM CST (This is Greenwich Mean Time minus 6 hours. Which translates to 8pm GMT). Here is what Todd had to say…My official ABC Lost print will go on sale on my site at 2 PM CST this Friday. The print was part of a series commissioned by ABC and Gallery 1988 and 200 copies were originally sold on this site. The series was huge success and many of the prints sold out in seconds. I hadn't planned on putting this on sale just yet but I have literally received over 100 emails asking me to do it this week so I am. I only have 50 to sell but the majority of those will go to my subscribers. The price is $175 and this is one where you have to be there on time.
Update: As you all know by now, in a really cool move Mitch from OMGPosters.com visited the comments this morning and told us that Rob Jones sold The Swan via his email address. This is without example, and pretty awesome. Thanks Mitch.

I would expect the sold out to appear in Paypal as it has on previous. Perhaps Todd had no inventory amount in Paypal. Nightmare for him and us.

The Danger is always going to sell for over market value. I have five of his prints. If I don't get it when it drops (and I'm begging someone, ANYONE here to buddy up with me for it) I'll wait a year for some to appear on Ebay at sensible prices.

y'see, for me, the "I MUST HAVE IT" reaction was the Danger one. I got five other of his prints as back up! I'd kill for that one, and the Millward, with Eric Tan's third (I know, but it's personal taste) I definitely love the Hatch, but I definitely DON'T have $1000 to spend on posters. One, maybe two Lost prints are enough for my house.
I second The Hatch being amazing. That was my first poster and I completely love it. Got it framed in a purple frame... wasn't so sure about purple and then I saw it... complete awesomeness!!

This was such a clever project... the more I think of it (and right after a drop may not be the best time) the more I marvel at the genius. Lost rewards the viewers who scrutinise, collaborate and collect, and what better medium to exploit / encourage that than with art prints? A run of figures would have been fun, but would have lacked "name" artists for all of them... prints were a thunderingly brilliant idea.
Don't want crash...Really wants hatch as Locke is my favorite character. I will never be able to get Locke's secret unless I win the lotto so Hatch is a dream come true. My Hurley from doyle with the doodle is next dream come true as he is my second fav!
I was locked and loaded in Paypal, but I decided to cancel and give someone who really wanted Ben a chance. I'm going to be patiently waiting for the infamous Hatch on Monday. What is really bothering me now, and yes, I know hindsight being 20/20, is that I could have gotten the hatch, the numbers, the dharma van, the love triangle, the four-toed statue for $60 each. Oh well, I did get The Polar Bear when it originally dropped and really like it. It really looks good after I got it framed and hung on my wall.
