I feel really bad that some of you (Martyn, Amy Lynn) feel uncomfortable about going over to TLC. I assure you that everyone over there are great and very welcoming. I'm sure Capcom, Sayidsgirl, Ellen, and Zort would say the same thing. It will be very difficult for Zort (and some other Admins we have at TLC) to maintain two blogs at once covering the same thing.

Some good questions about Smokie.
I agree that the Island can be considered a " character"..but the question is worded so that the Island is excluded from the answer, character or not.
Fascinating time line conflicts, yes? Interesting that Smokie Has Been in flash backs , Bens for example,,and in some sense, forwards,,as in Alex reincarnated,,whatever Time zone Sun, Flocke, Ben and crew are in. So the character of Smokie is given depth and change is noted.

on the increase in Prints for sale issue...it amazes me how many folks got into this LFA,,apparently with out any review of financial ability or obligations. La di da di da. I was late getting a blu-ray player set up for this and am still waiting to take class 2 in the 1st Sem courses and the exams. Does it actually record the time you finished class on to calculate how many days they make you wait?

And i'm done! 22 Credits earned! Can go to bed now, and just wait for Graduation Ceremony to see if I made the lucrative 108! Will do the other classes tomorrow though.

Note to all, once you have the credits needed, go to student records and hit the button that says graduate in the top right corner. Can still enrol on classes but I think you need to hit graduate to be, well, graduated.

I did the Art, Davies, and PHI201 to get to 22 units. The PHI201 class is 1 "class" video and 1 "homework" video. The "exam" is a list of group discussion questions, you just click exit and they give you the units for it.
Sorry, i'm being generally useless, probably because it's quarter to 6am here. Don't like being up this early, but I want that diploma to go next to my real diploma.

Not sure Davies did a great job of explaining, but would love to have a conversation with him some time. Also enjoyed psychologist getting a bit giggly over Sawyer X3 (I'm pretty sure that's NOT an LU spoiler).
I'm not sure I personally care about the 108 thing. Tired of headless chicken mode, lol. Gunning instead to finish remaining courses with 4.0 GPA.
Well I do hope I get a diploma, it will be my first college one so far even after three tries. :| Chronic illness with acute intervals = fail. If only all my real classes had been on the PS3 (and related to Lost)!
Seriously, can we please get over whining about flipping? Lets not pretend that none of us have ever bought something and sold it later because it appreciated in value. That means that antique dealers are nasty flippers. Damn them old people for selling furniture that costed less when it originally sold. That said, I sold my Polar Bear and Walt because I don't need that many prints and framing that many prints will cost a small fortune. I still have Locke, Crash, Smokey, and LOST to love and admire.

The book for the Davies class is really interesting. Does make you think about the whole idea of perception causing reality- especially as it is describing real experiments. When I read it I wanted to try and get thousands of Lost fans to try and concentrate on "the numbers" for a particular lottery at a particular time, and see if any statistical change could result. Might get arrested though!:)

Anyone -- I started a bit lat and still have Class 2 to take for most of the first Semester classes. It's been 2 days (just barely)...how does LU count 2 days...

Darn. We ran into all sorts of problems getting things to load and run. I'm pretty sure that the servers were getting HAMMERED! Sounds like the UK folk had a better / quicker experience. Did your servers go live immediately? We couldn't even get the class list up, until 9:10pm PST. Going as fast as we could, it still took us 50 minutes to complete the two classes we needed to graduate. So unless they give us some sort of credit for the problems... I think my wife and I are nowhere near the first 108... (sigh)

Ha! It's okay. I thought you were suggesting A (shortest distance between two points is a straight line), but the actual answer was D, as in curved trajectory. It's okay though. Still on Dean's list (QuantumLeap) along with Maven, Lottery Ticket, RevMilo, etc.!
I might add that one of the questions in the Hieroglyphics exam is downright wrong, and there are two misleading/borderline incorrect ones on PHI 101 relating to Locke and Rousseau . . .

Okay I had to go look it up - spacetime is curved, so I can understand "curved trajectory" in some ways but I thought in the lecture they were demonstrating in a non-3D universe anyway. That's still effectively a straight line from our perception anyway. Slightly dodgy question imo.

@Pat- I'm on the Dean's list (jawapez). I counted the names about a week into LOST U and I believe it was around 250. Should be much more now.
That Physics question is ambiguous. I think what they are trying to illustrate is that travel at velocities that are fractions of the speed of light cause time dilation, or time to "stretch". So if you traveled from point A, T1 to B, T2 of space time on a straight line versus a curved path you "travel" a greater "distance" on the curved path between the same 2 time coordinates, so time for the person in that reference plane "was stretched", they experienced "less time". It is a poorly worded question and a bad example.

I finally got through enough LU credits to graduate a little over an hour ago...I have no idea if I'd make the first 108 (I'm sure that many probably mad it through in the first couple hours) but will wait and see. I wonder how they let the first 108 know...email (real), or in the LU mailbox?
