Tyler Stout LOST Poster Sale Delayed 487

I'm afraid we LOST fans seem to have broken a small part of the internet, please see the information below -

Hello,

So, due to increased demand and web traffic, i will no longer be selling stuff on tstout.com. THE SALE ON MY SITE (which is crashed) IS CANCELED. New sale instructions to follow. normally i hate changing plans in mid-sale, but i don't see tstout.com not being crashed for hours and hours to come, and i don't want you wasting more of your time refreshing it.

instead, i will relay sale information via this mailing list. So, now would be the time to unsubscribe (see bottom of this email, click SafeUnsubscribe and that's it, no more emails from me). if you're just interested in getting an email from me once every so often, this is not the mailing list to be on. it is only for those interested in getting constant sale instructions from me. during a sale week you may get up to 3 or 4. i hate doing it, but i can't keep up with the site crashings and emails from frustrated customers.

so, fair warning. i won't hold it against you if you unsubscribe. otherwise i'll assume you like getting several emails from me in a short span of time. no need to email and say 'keep me on your mailing list', just don't unsubscribe and you'll stay on it.

REGARDING THE LOST POSTER SALE
at 8PM TONIGHT PST (about 5 hours from now), i will send out an email to my mailing listers. in it, i will have the lost question. As well as the EMAIL ADDRESS to email your answer to. Please DO NOT email me at Tyler@tstout.com with your answer, i will provide the email address in the email.

it might be the same way for the phish poster sale tomorrow, so expect another email. and one Wednesday with the monster squad sale info.

my apologies to those of you that have spent the past 2 hours refreshing tstout.com. i have spent the past 2 hours trying to upload the lost info. this mailing list idea is to avoid wasting more of your time.

TONIGHT, 8 PM PST, check your email.

thanks again,
best
tyler

www.tstout.com

*i know these emails are lengthy and convoluted, the simple fact is i am just not that great at these poster sales. i like making posters, i'm just not great at selling them. i get a ton of email and try to answer everyone's questions, which is also why i pack all this info into emails, since i figure if i don't, people will ask them. thanks for your understanding.

Yeah, no kidding. Especially because I got very little sleep, as the kitten decided her new thing is taking up half the bed.

Hey did any of you guys see the link to the site I had up earlier

Merry Christmas Jesus is pretty funny, might have to pick one up!

lolol Chris, I was kinda thinking the same and couldn't come up with a nice way to put it so I didn't lol Not sure why it's posted here, it has nothing to do with Lost except maybe for people praying on a crashing plane on Christmas ?

Martyn said...

ChrisL, lucky you! Not looking forward to the charges, but it was sent as a gift so I don't know why they're charging me anything!

ChrisL said...

lolol back Lisa as I just decided to delete the comment!! Best just left alone I decided.

How's the snow? Bf driving the kids today?

Unknown said...

Is anyone having issues logging onto postersandtoys.com ?

ChrisL said...

Martyn, it's kind of lucky all round as I actually got it on behalf of a fellow Lostie who missed out so everybody wins on this occasion. Unlike last night. Those prints didn't go here and didn't go to EB by the sound of it... I wonder where they went? WK at $50 tonight anyone?

ChrisL said...

Sarvesh, site appears to be down. Uh Oh.

HenryGaleWasHere said...

sorry it was a little OT, but just came across it and was wondering if anyone else had seen it

kiwilostie said...

Yes, the Stout drops got me flummoxed! I too wonder where they ended up, or when, maybe. ;)

andalone said...

Just seen on twitter:
ollymoss -
Lost prints are shipping this week - it took a bit longer to get some extra strong tubes.

Patmc said...

Good morning everyone!

@ChrisL - I'd recommend a move to San Diego instead. Close enough to LA, but without all the smog and traffic... :-)

@The Kharma Initiative - I sent you an email...

ChrisL said...

Patmc. San Diego is on my mini US tour list for 2nd Qtr. See you there :-)

ChrisL said...

Email from Rob Jones today to say Swan is shipping now.

Patmc said...

@ChrisL - That would be fantastic! Let me know when you'll be here. I can probably get some discount tickets through my work, to some of the fun local attractions (Sea World, San Diego Zoo, San Diego Wild Animal Park, LegoLand). I'd be happy to play tour guide for you too. :-)

ChrisL said...

Pat, that would be awesome! It's all down to when various business meetings need to happen but I will def let you know.

ReverendMilo said...

Anther complete set is for sale on ebay...well almost complete, as soon as he gets the rest

I am soooo tempted to see if any of these have been tracked by the print tracking threads.

"The Numbers"#: 122/300
"The Crash"#: 277/300
"The Love Triangle"#: 267/300
"The Swan Station"#: 274/300
"Walt's Kidnapping"#: 167/300
"Jacob's Cabin"#: 283/300
"The Barracks"#: 161/300
"Ben Linus"#: 104/300
"The Polar Bear"#: 103/300
"Lost"#: 105/300

Considering the remain 7 include 1 of the recent artists releases, and the other 6 are still unreceived, I have no reason to believe that this isn't a pure profiteering flip, and a completed set just for that intent. Bah.

ChrisL said...

That makes me sad Rev :-(

maven said...

Yeah, I agree, Rev. Anyone who puts up a complete set at such a price collected them for just this reason....make money (exception is TomRex).

Hey, ChrisL, you have a tour guide in L.A., too! :)

ChrisL said...

And you KNOW I'm going to be taking advantage of that Maven :-) I love LA but have never spent enough time to really get to know it.

DvdBos said...

Down at spoilertv there is a thread where people linked their poster numbers.. So maybe there is something to find there..

Martyn said...

GMT wise, what time is walt's kidnapping on sale tonight?

ChrisL...

Double bonus on the customs charge. Been importing so much stuff lately from America, I should of expected the tax tbh. Oh well, as long as I have it, and WK has been put on a plane today too. And pizza hut tonight. God bless Tuesdays!!!

The Kharma Initiative said...

@patmc, emailed ya back.

DvdBos said...

What's with price 7 and 8 results? How much did we reach for Haiti? `And, this post's label should be frame 16 not 14. :)

Drama said...

GMT should be 10ish. My WK print is now unexpectedly up in the air, slightly disappointingly. I may well be joining the scramble. :(

Amy Lynn said...

I'm pretty sure GMT is 8pm.

adam_keller said...

Hey Amy!

Just wanted to mention that WK is my second favorite of the whole series, good luck to those who go for it, it really is awesome!

Drama said...

didn't it say 2pm sale? if it's middday, then 8ish. If it's 2, then 10.

Drama said...

whoops! CST not PST. Yeah, about 8pm. 1 1/2 hours!

ChrisL said...

So once again I'm here and I'm ready. I have WK. am I working on this for anyone else?

Amy Lynn said...

Thankfully, I already have WK. It is supremely awesome.

ChrisL said...

Agreed Amy. I want all of our friends to have it.

Limbofunk said...

@andalone

Thanks for the Olly update!

Drama said...

in an hour, I may be begging you to work for me!

andalone said...

@Limbofunk You're welcome.

only managed to get barracks but been following from start - gutted i didnt buy locke when had (some sort of) chance & missed jacobs cabin drop altogether...
just for my info...

Drama said...

hmmm, I REALLY need Mitch to check his email! If you're reading this, could you please get back to me?

Unknown said...

Am taking a break, so I'll be around for WK drop if someone wants help. Though I've been useless anyway :P

Still think it's pretty amazing that we've had . . . one? Stout show up in the hands of someone here? Big internet, I guess.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

sorry Chris, I forgot to reply. Yep the kiddies are back to school today and then it started snowing again. My bf said the roads were terribly slippery again. Here alot of the back roads are dirt and messy in the snow. They have a big truck to pull them out when they get stuck. I'll stay inside today and avoid the driving lol

chaseter said...

Who cares what someone does with their prints? I thought we were past all of this? As long as they aren't in here every page trying to sell them...leave it alone and quit judging them. I can't believe some LOST fans are so judgemental and act so privileged.

For those asking about WK price, Mitch said it would be less than Smokey and Smokey was $200 so I can imagine it being $150ish.

Martyn said...

Ben, unlucky on WK. If you don't get one let me know, I should be able to help you out.

Amy Lynn said...

charter, I think the issue with this Ebay auction is that it appears most of the prints were collected in the second round releases, specifically for the purpose of flipping. That's uncool.

Martyn said...

Zort70 said...

Good luck to all going for WK tonight.

i'm LOST said...

Hey Zort-how's the fundraiser going?

chaseter said...

I understand Amy, but we have no place or right to lay blame or judge other people for their actions regarding a piece of art. For all we know, they could be in need of an operation or be out of work due to the economy. We don't know the whole story so to act privileged in that some of us are able to afford some of these or a complete collection and then judge others for not doing the same is wrong imo.

We all watch LOST, it is wrong to judge other people for their actions and that is a very prevalent theme in the show.

-charter

ChrisL said...

postersandtoys home page updated.

Amy Lynn said...

@charter, understood. However, if you need money, you probably shouldn't be buying $200 prints to begin with.

Amy Lynn said...

Is that a 2 hour time change now?

Unknown said...

Hmm..

He always seems to post in Central Time, but that does say PST...

Drama said...

yeah, it's 2Pm PST now (or wasn't it always?) either way, chill till ten PM UK time....

Weinbeeezy said...

one hour time change no?

ChrisL said...

OMG clearly says CST.

XXXHardcore said...

The poster drop is now 2 PM... PST.

ChrisL said...

Mitch? What's the story?

chaseter said...

I agree Amy. But, if it puts food on the table for their family and it is seen as an investment opportunity, then I can't knock them as I would do the same thing. I would sell all my worldly goods if I were a father and my family needed help. The last thing I would care about would be being a true fan of a tv show. It sucks for us but the prints are still in existance. They can still be purchased by fans so it isn't like fans are not going to get them if they really wanted them. But, the best thing to do is to not publicize those auctions by posting them every where for more potential buyers to find them. Oh well, this will all be over with when the show starts in 2 weeks! We won't care about anything else!

-charter

Amy Lynn said...

It's back to CST. Which is 16 minutes from now!

Unknown said...

@Chaseter...

It seems much better if you buy something and then later need to sell it as opposed to those who watch these boards and buy it just to resell.

Yeah, its a free society so do what you will, but it doesn't mean people have to be cool with it.

It's like when we were trying to spot something for Christmas last year, and everytime we got to a store they were sold out. Talked to a guy at one of the stores and they told us of a network of people that basically monitored stores and were there on the exact days they got stock and wiped it out.

Is it illegal? No... is it a horrible thing to do to the other people trying to get one for their intended purpose? In my opinion, yes...

ChrisL said...

Weinbeeezy, could you email me please. chris dot leaning at gmail dot com. Thanks

chaseter said...

drsluggo...then are antique shops run by evil flippers?

Lets just let it go. It sucks yes but it does us no good to whine about it and like I said, it isn't our place to judge or smear them. We have more important things to worry about like the FINAL SEASON!!!

-charter

Unknown said...

@ Chaseter...

Antique shops arent sitting on here or EB trying to snag things from other people who want to display the posters. They are buying things that have appreciated over many years and typically are not paying the original price to begin with.

I'm fine moving on - I just think that everyone has an opinion there and to be honest both are 100% valid... I can't really say you're wrong and I know I'm not right. Its solely my opinion on that one.

Drama said...

GO! $150

ChrisL said...

5 second sell out. not bad.

XXXHardcore said...

Wonder if there will be any oversells or refunds. Was there for The Smoke Monster?

Drama said...

gone in about 6 seconds. Anyone get one?

Lisa-Maladylis said...

that was fast, in my cart and out of stock in 3 seconds. wow !

XXXHardcore said...

I got one!

chaseter said...

But you can see the parallels with an antique shop owner going to estate and garage sells to be the first to try and snag good deals and then sell those items at a profit? It is the same thing.

-charter

Unknown said...

Anyone buy?

Timestamp on my email receipt = Jan. 19, 2010 14:00:38 CST

Hope I don't get the dreaded refund email :(

Limbofunk said...

I got one into my cart, but that was as far as I got :)

ChrisL said...

Did anyone notice this?

"Please note, because of shipping from the UK, some of these have a tiny corner ding or two. Nothing that won't frame out, and not a big deal at all, but worth noting".

Weinbeeezy said...

ahhhhh another failure... wamp wamp

Unknown said...

i got one... i tihnk... and i had one small mis-step so hopefully it doesnt put me in an oversell.

Very fair pricing though - not bad.

Hopefully mine don't have dinged up corners though - i did not see that :)

I however, have one! HOORAY!

DvdBos said...

Congrats to the ones who managed to buy this! It's the second best poster of the lot, imho.. :)

OMG Mitch said...

Thanks everyone for the relatively smooth sellout. I know Drew and I both appreciate it. Cheers.

Unknown said...

Where is that list of poster sales and print numbers that someone was compiling?

Drama said...

Mitch is a golden God.

ReverendMilo said...

Charter,

I do not agree with your analogy.

And my beef with it is as I stated it, it appears the set was completed with the express intent of flipping it.

And we dont have to be OK with it.

Society has to deal with the fact their are scalpers, flippers, toy speculators and so on yes, but we dont have to like it or them. They remind me more of bottom feeding fish more than antique dealers.

I don't love the unnecessary middle-man, and I am surprised you would.

ChrisL said...

Nice job Mitch. Thanks for the good price and the slick operation. Pass our thanks on to Drew.

Unknown said...

Thanks Mitch and Drew --

That was one of the smoothest sales yet and if there are no refunds (doesnt seem to be)... then it probably is right there for #1.

Very cool!

chaseter said...

I don't love them Milo, I said you shouldn't judge them. But, do what you wish.

-charter

i'm LOST said...

Milo-I agree with you. I am a confirmed thrift shop junkie, and it really burns me up to go into one and see someone standing there in the book section SCANNING the barcodes with a scanner plugged into a cellphone and checking the values on Amazon.com. That takes all of the fun out of it!These people aren't here because they love collecting or love old books-they don't even care what book it is-but it sure is going up online to sell! I know, I know, times are tough, but the internet seems to have created an entire genre of people who profit from this type of thing with no LOVE for it. No, it isn't illegal, and who am I to judge someone else, but in my opinion, this is how the soul gets sucked out of the collectibles hobby...

andalone said...

Has anyone heard news, or received email, phone call, registered letter, carrier pigeon message, etc. on the "Message in a Bottle" Sweepstakes? The rules said the drawing for the 815 winners would be on or about January 18.

Sandman90 said...

@andalone - Haven't heard anything back yet and nothing I could find on ABC.

Unknown said...

@ Andalone,

I could be wrong, but I thought I read somewhere that you wouldnt know you won until it got there... that makes no sense, but I thought I read they were doing that to avoid people planning ahead to either sell it or post it to a major website (it will be up early no matter what though).

andalone said...

Hmmmmmm. Guess I will start stalking mailman again. HA! He thought he was safe after he delivered 15 posters.

Thanks guys.

i'm LOST said...

Actually, in the official rules fine print, it reads, "WINNER NOTIFICATION: The potential winners will be notified by mail, phone, and/or e-mail and will be required to confirm his/her mailing address and verify his/her eligibility within forty-eight (48) hours of time of notification."

Weinbeeezy said...

hopefully people from here win a bottle so we know about it... unlike the posters last night

Unknown said...

@ Max --

I stand corrected then... I thought I saw it in an article about the press leading to the premiere.

I hope I win... I know I wont. :)

i'm LOST said...

Hopefully SOMEONE from here gets one-at least to see a photo of the actual USB drive!

Martyn said...

I'm back!

Oh, did I miss the WK sale? Dang it!

I would like to say though, thank you Mitch and Drew, you are both legends!

Ben, glad you got a WK!

Wow, impressive stuff! That means that Lisa can start selling her Dharma Beer Cozy's again. I think.

Lisa-Maladylis said...

yeah but they would get the money for them I think. I think what there doing is making you a way to make something for your self and friends but when you buy it, the money goes to Cafe'Press or Lost/Disney. I doubt I could put up something and then sell it to everyone I know. Besides, it's so much cheaper for me to print them myself lol (I am a cheap bas**d)

ReverendMilo said...

Charter,
didnt you say this just over a month ago?

"I have no problem with people purchasing them for whatever amount. I have a problem with people buying them and knowing full well that they are going to sell them. That is called flipping. Someone buying a print to sell could have caused a person that wanted to keep them not to get one."
http://forum.spoilertv.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=13176&p=345544#p345544

yet your telling me not to make the same stance you took?

Drama said...

Children, please. Feel free to squabble over email, but you're harshing my buzz over my first lost print. Head it on over to EBeans, they love that there. As does my alter-ego.... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAA!

Seriously though, quit it.

Anonymous said...

I believe someone posted that Cafepress press release earlier but it's still great info regardless.
The only problem with the artists who are considering getting posters printed like myself, is that these rules are only concerning Cafepress so any legal implications MAY still apply. Not exactly sure though because I'm not a lawyer.

Martyn said...

Right, out of interest, last night I received an e-mail from Mitch from OMG posters. I'm curious to know who else got one. Midday? ;)

ChrisL said...

Lisa, I'm guessing that you'll be able to sell them and that Cafe will take a cut and ABC a cut of that. I'm sure you'll be able to make money. Truth is though, reading through the do's and don'ts, They're simply giving permission to do stuff which wouldn't have breached copyright anyway.

Drama said...

martyn... email me?

ChrisL said...

A few people did Martyn. You're on the 'Nice' list! Kudos.

Martyn said...

Ben...

Yeah, email you for a specific reason.

Drama said...

Amy Lynn said...

I would like to hear about Mitch's email :)

Martyn said...

Glad to know Chris, was starting to think it was a scam list, but as long as i'm not, all is fine. Bagged another one for my gf so how's that for constantly talking about it.

Wait ages for one and two come along at once.

ChrisL said...

I grabbed you one for you too just in case yours was lost in the post.

Martyn said...

It's all over but I feel like i'm tempting fate by C&P the e-mail in here.

Yes I did Milo. However, I had to sell two of my prints because framing is ridiculously expensive. I then became an evil flipper so to continue to hold that stance on flippers would be hypocritic of me. I am sure a lot of people have done this. I then saw what TomRex had to say on his situation and it put a face on all of this. I know a few people on other sites that also had to sell some prints because they are in financial situations that are dire. Why do you think I stopped complaining about flippers?

We have no idea how to know who is a full on flipper and who needs the money because of a situation we know nothing about. I am only saying don't judge people because you don't know the whole story. No one is better than the next person and thinking you are only leads to trouble.

-charter

Unknown said...

that might explain why it only took 5 seconds to sell out!

Drama said...

"please keep the offer confidential".
HMMMMMMMMM.

Unknown said...

If you're bugged by discussion about flipping, easy solution: don't say anything. Then the argument never gets started. Easy enough to ignore the occasional comment. For my part I regret discussing it, one of those things best ignored if you're able.

Congrats on your first print Ben!

What's this about secret correspondence for a few people? Hah, lucky you ;)

Another lightning-fast sell out, huh? Missed it entirely but wasn't going for this one.

I thought it might be slower but I guess those times are loooong gone. No chance at DD for me I'm feeling.

Who else is going for the remaining prints?

ChrisL said...

The criteria was that it was those people who had specifically saught out Drew and asked about buying it. Sounds as though it came from Drew.

If only we could find Eric Tan's email address....

Drama said...

Left are Bell's Love Triangle (Early feb) Danger's Jacob's Cabin (sometime in the next two weeks) and Tan's Crash (Feb sometime).

I'll be trying for the last two, being my top two on the list.

lol, I imagine Tan has created an alias email address to avoid us for the time being.

Looking forward to Dangers print, flex ye old F5 finger again. I'll admit the e-mail seemed very dodgy to me too but the email was the same on the contact page for postersandtoys.com so I was convinced! And all this was going on during Stout's selling last night.

chaseter said...

Mitch also had a little presale for Smokey as well as Walt. Awesome of Ken, Drew, and Mitch to do that.

Amy Lynn said...

Awesome is one word for it. *rolls eyes*

chaseter said...

Amazing, fantastic, ridonkulous...insert whatever you like.

It shows that the artists care about their fans and it is appreciated.

Mitch...do you own any of these LOST prints?

-charter

Martyn said...

Ridonkulous is my word, I think. Or Ridonkulously Awesome!

From my POV anyway, to people who missed out on it, it's probably more of a "those ba*****s sold some early JUST because they sent an e-mail???"

But no, ridonkulously awesome is the correct word for me.

Amy Lynn said...

If I didn't already have WK on my wall, I'd be super pissed. But, whatever.

Martyn said...

On another note, does anyone know if the first purchaser for LOST got any sort of prize at all?

Sandman90 said...

@amy lynn - LMAO! Just about choked on a HoHo after your last line!

chaseter said...

First purchaser of Tim Doyle's Hurley print gets Tim Doyle to paint their house! But no, Tim did send out extra prints I do believe...which is also awesome of him.

Martyn said...

Charter, I meant from Alexandra Miller or Burke, can't remember her name when i'm this tired, for Frame 16. No-one mentioned anything as we no longer needed the clues in the letter but thought it'd be interesting to still know what they got!

chaseter said...

Oh yeah!? I forgot about that. I guess nothing:(

Will have to ask Paul about why Mifdew didn't give a prize for print 16.

Hey maven
I just heard on the news that LA is getting tornado warnings with the storms there. Keep safe.

DvdBos said...

I'm still asking myself why Mitch did not contact me for Smokey "pre"sell, i just covered Ken Taylor with email.. :(

Sam G said...

@ Ben

Congratulations

ChrisL said...

I'mAnnie. I don't remember anyone mentioning at the time that there were pre sells on Smokey. I don't think it would be Mitch's decision anyway, much more likely that Drew wanted to recognize those that had been in touch directly previously.

chaseter said...

ImAnnie, Ken also promised me a Smokey and Mitch did not contact me so who knows. I do know that 9 or so people were allowed to buy Smokey before the sale for $150.

Hey ARGpeeps!

Another day, another LOST poster artist release. Huge thanks and hats off to Mitch for what seems like a smooth sale.

I'm still just a bit curious to see who ended up getting last nights Stout/LOST prints...

Zort or Dennis, if you're around, how are we doing with Prize 9/Haiti assistance donations?

DvdBos said...

Well, that's fine.

We had fun :)

Let's wait for The Crash :D

ReverendMilo said...

So charter, which of the ones that mitch is hooking you up with are you going to flip so you can frame?

Sorry for being petty, but critising me for "judging" person for a very apparent for profit flip, then saying you are not a hypocrite because you changed your stance on flipping, then bragging about an inside track to more posters, well it is a little irksome.

Tess315 said...

Patmc
You're in the San Diego area right? I see you're getting the same storms. You stay safe too. And all my Calif. Lost friends.

Zort70 said...

Hi I haven't got the full total at the moment but I can announce that we have now got over $1000.

Hopefully I'll get you a more accurate total tomorrow.

Also tomorrow is the announcement of the prize 7 winner.

Good night all.

thorsten said...

Night, Zort!

Martyn said...

Very tired now so will follow Zort. Not literally obviously but to my own bed.

Goodnight all and in regards to what Sayids Girl said, keep safe LAers!

ObFuSc8 said...

Artists have the liberty to reserve presale prints for fans when they want to, this is really not unheard of.

I think ChrisL is accurate in saying that any presale's on The Smoke Monster came from Ken Taylor, and not Mitch Putnam.

Hope all of our SoCal LOST peeps are safe and sound.

chaseter said...

What are you talking about Milo? Who said I was flipping anything I bought from Mitch if I got anything from Mitch? There goes that assuming again.

-charter

i'm LOST said...

@charter, you should just frame your posters yourself...archival frame kits of every size can be purchased online at prices way less than frame shops will charge...

ChrisL said...

Night Zort, Thorsten, Martyn.

And thanks to OB for her calm tone.

maven said...

Thanks for the concern about the storms in So. Cal. Today's was heavy rain, but tomorrow night/Thursday is supposed to be really fierce.

Another pretty easy poster release...glad to see some of you got what you wanted!

No comment any more on flipping...there's more important things to talk about and worry about.

Impressive Haiti donations!

OMG Mitch said...

Yes, both artists asked me separately to offer prints to some people that had inquired with them earlier.

It was all up to Ken and Drew, they weren't my lists, or my decisions.

That being said, it wasn't very many people, and really isn't a big deal. Just those guys trying to help out a few fans.

Sam G said...

Really heavy rains in LA but then the sun broke through and the brightest rainbow I ever saw was right ahead of us. Back to rain.

thorsten said...

Nice, Sam. Still snowing here ;))

Patmc said...

@Sayid's girl - Thanks for the concern. We're in a tornado warning too right now too. Reminds me of my days chasing tornadoes when I was going to school in Texas! I think most of the heavy stuff is past now, but it was almost hurricane force winds for a while.

And just to cover my bases... Eric Tan... if you are reading this... I'll be happy to email you to let you know how much I want your "Crash" poster... if you just post your email address somewhere for me... :-)

ReverendMilo said...

Sorry didn't mean to assume you were going to flip what mitch sold you, I was going off of this statement you made today

"I had to sell two of my prints because framing is ridiculously expensive. I then became an evil flipper so to continue to hold that stance on flippers would be hypocritic of me."

And then I assumed that you did get a print from mitch because I read this on EB wrong I guess.

"Mitch forced me to buy this poster. True story."

ChrisL said...

I like it best when it's a Lostargs Love-in.

Mitch, Always appreciate you dropping by to keep us straight.

Martyn said...

Sorry Mitch, I got a little over excited and went over board.

Hope I didn't cause you any aggro.

chaseter said...

Milo, you are blowing things way out of proportion and don't know anything you are talking about. If you can't see that my post you got off of EB was making fun of the guy talking about how these artists were forcing them to buy these posters at a raised price then don't pick and pluck quotes without seeing the context.

Once again, it is awesome of Drew and Ken to listen to fans and offer them a second chance so thanks to those two guys and to Mitch for having a smooth sale today.

-charter

Mitch is really behind me and is making me post this and he has me locked in a room buying art and he will come back at any time and AHHHHHH.

thorsten said...

Charter, your remark about MEL on EB is a joke too, right? Like the Potter one, that went well.

chaseter said...

Yeap thorsten. I am training to be a stand up comedian.

-charter

thorsten said...

Charter, just to be clear…
I consider your comment about MEL on EB bad style.

If you want to migrate to EB I will not stop you.

Maybe they want to be lectured by you about the virtues of flipping.

@Noel Michael

a) No, just enter your total donation. Zort can divide by 5.

b) Yes, 100% will go to Haiti

thorsten said...

Charter, do yourself a favor and delete that post.
It is wrong in so many ways that I start to worry a bit about you.

Amy Lynn said...

charter, pls. chill out on the comments to thorsten. He is an admin here. he deserves respect.

chaseter said...

I deleted it because you asked so nicely. We are all a bit crazy so don't worry about me. Mitch takes good care of me. He gives me enough bread and water to stay alive.

Anyone heard from Olly if he shippe dout his prints yet? I have my frame all ready to go...

throwfar said...

Should I keep my prints rolled up in the packing tubes until I get frames

futureself said...

JD, he posted this on twitter today:

'Lost prints are shipping this week - it took a bit longer to get some extra strong tubes.'
...about 9 hours ago from Twitterrific

Sam G said...

Tried to take a picture of the rainbow but we were in traffic - mostly picture of wet cars.

Take you poster out of the tubes ASAP. Lay it flat and put books on it for a few days to straighten.

Didn't Olly say he mailed his posters out today?

Unknown said...

Sweet I can;t wait to get my print. Thanks futureself

maven said...

That rainbow was right in my backyard in Northridge (north LA). It was so bright and a perfect arch...there was a very faint double rainbow, too! I could actually look into the canyon and see where it ended...no gold though! :)

Sam G said...

@ Maven
I live in Valley Glen, we're practically neighbors.

I saw the double rainbow too.

throwfar said...

Sam thanks for the info. I put them on the carpet to straighten.

maven said...

@SamG: Yeah, we're really close! I didn't know that.

Anonymous said...

uh oh. Is it really that bad to leave the posters rolled up? I have 2 that need to be framed, but can't afford the frames yet. It's too risky with my cat to leave them rolled out. Will they be ok like this. I hope to be able to frame Rousseau soon, but saving for Lost may be awhile.

Joe D said...

Rousseau might not be too bad, but prints with many layers of paint covering the whole poster will give you a hard time if let rolled too long. The tubes are NOT acid free, so it's best not to leave any print in there

Anonymous said...

At the craft store they had a frame for about 30 but it's not acid free or anything would that be ok for now. Or at least better than the tube?

Thanks for all the advice. I guess i'll order my Rousseau's fram tomorrow. That's my favorite poster and would hate to see anything bad happen to it.

..btw...All rainbows are double rainbows..its just a matter of seeing.
The desert is getting half a years worth of rain inches in 24 hrs as I type. We call these chains of storms stretched across the Pacific, the Pineapple Monsoon. I think I should get to the source of it. Find out whats going on.

Speekin about whats going on..I 'm looking at the Polar Bear print here,,and realizing hes supposed to be ferocious and all, but seems abit under the weather, I mean a Polar Bear in the Tropics can't be doing very well all confused and all and the beer ain't helping him cope either,,its like hes Bi-polar..ya know what I mean?..yea,, a Bi-polar bear..The Losties should have gave it drugs..some Dharma Lithium would balance his act out...help him control his wild swings from out right sociopath to lovable cuddly teddy.

Well the street in front of the house has turned into a river, but that don't mean I have to go fishing there. Let the bait go down the sewer and alls ya catch is a rat. Who wants Rat for diner? Ya know what I mean?

Don't touch the Turtles.

It's just the longer they are rolled up, the longer it takes to straighten. The ones I got were rolled in brown paper. If it's a matter of cat attack, I say leave them in the tube.

you could get a really cheap poster frame and layer them all in it between paper and then get them framed when you can.
