The auction is nearly upon us and what maybe the last chance for Losties to meet at an event organised by ABC.
Talking of meeting there are several people on their way to the auction, some have been planning this ever since it was announced and some have made the decision only in the last few hours. We all wish them a safe journey and hope they can report back on all the action.
One of the best things you can do to follow the action is to watch the Twitter List that has been set up by @Jopinionated. On this list you can follow @Dave_Rambo on his road trip to the auction.
Click here to see the list
Also you need to remember that today is the last day you can sign up for online or absentee bids, so register at LiveAuctioneers.com
The other thing to do is some research on any items you wish to bid for, so you know if they are worth that extra bid when the adrenaline of the auction is pumping through your veins.
One of the places you can do that research and get some informed opinion is at ThePropBlog.Com

FIRST! hmmmm.. Should I camp again? :)
here, have fun everyone, I hope you send photos.
Is anyone going to bother to bid online cause it seems like most people are going there in person.
@Jason
I think the majority of people are not bidding at all. The whole thing smells funny.
I'm sure the people going will have a good time looking at all the stuff, I just hope auction fever doesn't grip them and they end up spending a lot of money on mostly non screen time back up props!
Yeh. The whole auction does seem fishy but people ARE going to spend a damn lot of money on these items. Jack's Passport has already 36 bids, the Pilot script has 58 bids and the Finale script has 54 bids.
Courtesy of my LOST friends I already have a photocopy of the signed pilot script :-)
I am thinking of bidding online, but my top price for any item isn't much above the opening bid price anyway.
I'll see how easy it is to keep track of what is happening.
I'm one of those going to just meetup with Losties one more time! I'm going to be sitting on my paddle, and hubby will be there to keep my arms down! LOL I just want to see the Exhibit, and have plans to meet up with many people I've never met and Lost friends I've am seeing again!
Awww man... That's so awesome Zort. What are some of the items that you are planning to bid on?
@Maven - I guess that makes perfect sense on why people are going in person. If I lived in the US, I would have probably gone as well.
Dan McCarthy has a new poster going on sale today for Star Wars fans.

@Jason, I have a few items I'm looking at, but I'll see what the first few lots are doing before I think about really bidding.
@Sam G - It's very subtle.
By a few lots, I mean that I only really have enough money for 1, but it could be 1 of several that have caught my eye.
The final two LOST portraits have been released: http://www.officiallostphotos.com/
They will be selling the prints at the auction as well. I purchased "The Sanctuary". Both photo prints limited to 815.
I got the Sanctuary print too-that's a nice casual picture of the cast at the end.
Looks like the auctioneer, Profiles in History, has really been caught in their web of misleading catalog descriptions and self aggrandizing CEO Joe Maddelena! Joe is caught again!
If you are bidding, beware!

I'm so tempted to get both of the new photos.
Also, I don't think it matters anymore what is used onscreen and what is used in production. It is probably safe to say that most of it was made for production purposes. Nevertheless, I'm still willing to bid on some of the items.
Just got off the phone with everyone's buddy Joe. Looks like anything longer than my arm is still on Oahu, namely the extra large and heavy Lighthouse mirror array. Can't say for sure, but on my list of about 15 items only 3 are here in California.
It's 6:42 and were still waiting on that item location list. Happy trails.
Sorry but I just want to make sure. In order to bid, the 500 good-faith deposit doesnt exist anymore?
Jason, the $500 requirement was removed a while ago.
It hasn't been communicated very well though.
I've just checked my Twitter updates this morning and saw this photo from Lottery Ticket of the auction room -

Yeh, that's what I thought however it is still in the first lines of the Terms and Conditions.
looks like it's going to be lots of fun.
All I can say is that I've registered to bid online, but not been asked for my credit card details once !
I've created a final NEW POST for today.
We can discuss all the auction goings on there.
